    • We had a meeting about the new exhibition this summer at the civic center Science Museum. That is going to be something like Hitachi Time-Space Map, but with more physical activities.

    • We had the final presentation day for master course students in our major. The topics of our students are:
      • Development of a web-based rating system for slide visibility and its evaluation, and
      • Development of A Smart Mirror with Life Log Functions and Its Evaluation.

    • We had the final presentation day for undergraduate students in our department. The topics of our students are:
      • Automatic generation of musical medleys based on chord and tempo extraction,
      • Pseudo-3D display based on head tracking for viewpoint image generation,
      • Mood visualization using features extracted from financial news text,
      • Improvements on DNN-based pose estimation in still images by learning different datasets, and
      • Monochrome photograph colorization based on segmentation using deep learning.

    • The class "Special lectures on computer science" ended its all 15 lectures today.

    • We have ended our Science x Art exibition at the civic center Science Museum, including the following two installations. Thank you for coming.

    • We participated in ISCI2018 held at the Mito campus of our university. 5 students from our laboratory made their presentations there. This year's conference rooms are rather small.

    • I had a special seminar on C language programming at a high school.

    • We prepared the installations for the science x art exhibition at the science museum. My pieces are Literal Mosaics and Hitachi Time-Space Map. Prof. Yanai and one of his students are working with their piece featuring a 3D QR code in the right photograph.

    • I participated in ICPE2018 held at Kamakura, Japan.

    • We had an open house event at the university festival that is moved from May to Novenver this year. We had more than 100 visitors, as well as a number of alumni. Thank you very much for coming.

    • We participated in ACDDE 2018 held at Okinawa, Japan. I and 2 of my master course students made presentations there. I also served as the M.C. at the welcome party and managed things at the backstage.
